INDIAN BATTLE HEIGHTS is located in West Lethbridge alongside Red Crow Boulevard which is a popular route to get around Indian Battle Heights 1quickly while avoiding the traffic lights of the main roads. The subdivision’s name pays tribute to the last major inter-tribal battle in Western Canada between the Blackfoot Confederacy and the Cree-Assinniboine which took place in 1870.

Families in the area can walk a short distance to enjoy the ball diamonds, soccer fields and cement pads with basketball nets located at G.S. Lakie Middle School. Towaawa Park, the community’s largest, also includes soccer and baseball facilities. Other schools in the area are Father Leonard Van Tighem , Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School, Chinook High School and Catholic Central West Campus. The University of Lethbridge is also just a short drive away.

Indian Battle Heights provides easy access to everyday amenities including Safeway, Save-on-Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, Home Hardware, McDonalds and Tim Horton’s. Confirmed tenants at the nearby Crossings include No Frills, Rexall Drugs and full-service restaurants including Boston Pizza and Original Joe’s. Tim Horton’s, Subway, a gas bar and a new Calgary-based Vietnamese restaurant are also in the mix to open in Summer of 2016.

Leisure amenities include the nearby Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre which features a pool, skating rink and outdoor spray park. The approved and under construction Crossings Leisure Complex that will feature 2 NHL sized ice arenas and a 10 sheet curling complex and is scheduled to open in spring of 2016. Phase 2 will feature an aquatics centre with waterslides, lazy river and whirlpools, a multi-sport field house, a fitness centre, indoor track and an indoor playground. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2016 for completion in late 2018 or early 2019.
